Back to School with Hensel Porty L, Expert D & Power Max L on Location
Posted on June 20 2017
The university for communication and design in Ulm, Germany doesn’t simply rely on theory when it comes to teach its students about photographic knowledge. “Do it yourself” is the motto! That’s why the instructors Professor Simon Gallus and Thomas Kaercher recently gave the opportunity, within the scope of a high fashion workshop, to work with high-end equipment and to take first steps into fashion photography.
Lighting expert Holger Meseke of the Hensel subsidiary in Stuttgart and Christian Jorda of Phase One gave an introduction on how to work with professional camera and lighting equipment, so that the students were able to skillfully realize their photo ideas.
Since the photography part was planned to take place mostly on location, portable lighting solutions were needed: Equipped with the battery flash system Porty L 1200, several Expert D monolights and the portable “power socket” Power Max L, the participants got right down to business the following day. Lots of exciting locations were waiting, from a skatepark to a gravel pit, and were used extensively as shooting environments.
